The current upload is Teresa Teng's entire album,淡淡幽情 "Light Exquisite Feeling", published in 1983, featuring some poems written during the Southern Tang Dynasty (南唐) (937-975) and the Song Dynasty (宋) (960--1279). Of Miss Teng's 100+ albums, I consider this the best Mandarin album of her career. Future Chinese generations can glimpse at the rich cultural treasures of their mother country via these songs. For a general description of this album, please google "dan dan you qing", or "Light Exquisite Feeling".
As my focus is to spread Teresa Teng's legacy beyond her predominantly Asian fan base, I have provided full English translation of Teresa Teng's verbal introduction as well as for these 12 poem songs. Please understand that it is extremely difficult to translate classical Chinese poetry into contemporary English. Chinese syntax permits ambiguity, and a fair amount of redundancy with imagery. I can however honestly say that this has been my most ambitious yet honest effort in bridging the gap between East and West, and in promoting appreciation of Chinese culture via the music that our beloved Teresa Teng represents.
Let me thank melodydamor for having jointly translated 但願人長久 (dan yuan ren chang jiu) Wish We Live Long Lives, from Chinese to English with me. For the other joint English translation, 有誰知我此時情 (you shui zhi wo ci shi qing) Who Now Knows My Feeling, I want to thank gctlcda.
To provide more of a closer "personal feel" for us fans, I have edited a DVD clip containing 9 songs. I have added 3 song videos from the same album which are absent in this clip.
As three songs are from one particular poet, and three other songs having no specific introduction, I have re-organized the order of presentation, which is different from that of the Side A -- Side B format of the record CD, nevertheless containing the same twelve poem songs, as follows:
