For his love and support of Teresa Teng and his beautiful channels of song videos by Teresa Teng in Japanese, no one else but Mr. Masami Yamashita (征美) deserves the honor of this video dedication.

On the drizzling evening of July 10, 1976, Teresa Teng held her first solo concert in Japan at RUIDO of Shinjuku 新宿, Tokyo. She was wearing a black dress, and her mother was in attendance. The event was sparsely attended. Teresa Teng was not yet widely known in Japan, and her Japanese language proficiency was barely adequate for the Japanese to understand her. She led the mini concert by herself. At the opening, a full band performance was chaired by band master 岡本和雄　(Okamoto Kazuo). The band was organized by 豊岡裕　(Toyooka Yutaka) and Swing Face (drums, bass, guitar, piano, four trumpets, four trombnes, and five saxophones). Per her contract, she was to hold mini concerts once a month, as a way to fine tune her performance and stage presence skills, and the audiences along with her popularity increased gradually, cumulative to the more formal solo Concert at Shimbashi 新橋 , Tokyo, on April 22, 1977. The Shimbashi 新橋 Concert has often been mistaken as her first solo concert in Japan. Unfortunately for us fans, these mini concerts were not video-taped, and were discovered only years after Teresa Teng's passing.

In making this video, I have used mostly still pictures and very limited live images. The problem most evident was the extremely low sound volume of the original source audio. After a few tries, I have upped the entire track by 3.4db, and re-edited the talking portions to bring out Miss Teng's interaction with her orchestra when previously this aspect was almost inaudible. Patience also paid off, as it took several attempts to upload this video and, finally, after 45 minutes of "rendering", 2 hours of "uploading" and over 8 hours of "processing", the video was ready. Thanks also to Mr. Masami Yamashita (Masami43)'s assistance and his translation, I could correctly place the characters on the video screen, for a more enjoyable viewing and listening pleasure.
