12 oz. ---- taro
** for blanching **
5 to 7 cups - water
3 stalks ---- green onions
5 slices ---- ginger
1/2 cup ---- rice wine
1/8 cup ---- dark soy sauce (for coating)
as needed -- cooking oil (for deep frying)
** pre mix sauce **
3 pcs. ----- fermented red been curd with sauce
1 Tbsp ---- each, ginger & garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp. ---- five spice seasoning
2 Tbsp ----- each, light soy sauce & rice wine
** slurry**
1/4 tsp. --- corn starch
1/8 cup --- water
** garnishing ** lettuce leaves or the like
