Simple and delicious recipe for pan fried prawns (shrimp). The prawns are breaded in Panko bread crumbs. Panko bread crumbs are a Japanese style bread crumb, which make the prawns crispy and crunchy. Easy to make and a very tasty dish as an appetizer or main course. Recipe is below:

Crispy Crunchy Prawns (Shrimp) With Panko Bread Crumbs

1 lb. whole prawns
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 egg with 2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs

Peel shells from prawns. Slit the back of the prawns slightly with a knife. Lift the vein out with a knife and discard. The vein looks like a black thread. You can also omit removing the vein if you like. Wash the prawns in cold water and strain. Dry prawns with paper towel if required.

Prawns can be cooked whole as is. You can also "butterfy" the prawns by cutting down the middle of the prawn down the middle. Spread the
