Rev. Yao has sent me some of his original paintings. This is very appreciated and I am very grateful. Many thankyous.
I initially found Rev. Yao's work some months back and the thing that really set it off for me was the refreshing freedom I saw in the works.
The colours also are quite loud sometimes.
And the subjects most often have this very pronounced Monk in there which is again, most often painted with calligraphic strokes.
Trained way out East by Monks himself Rev. Yao now teaches the same spirituality in America somewhere and is a help to those who have seen life's War from the inside, as have I.
I see it as a strong reminder of what I try to achieve in my own chinese painting.
So, thanks again Rev. Yao. Beautiful work of course and look forwards to seeing what's next!
