第七屆海峰盃棋賽開戰，64位台灣職業棋士展開『單敗淘汰』廝殺，因為賽制變數較大關係，年輕棋士容易異軍突起，去年楊博崴奪下海峰盃冠軍時，不過年僅16歲。
海峰棋院院長楊泰雄觀察，近年台灣年輕棋士衝勁夠，意志力也強，所以有許多異軍突起的例子，除了楊博崴、18歲棋王王元均、10段林君諺…等人，都是最棒的例子。
