Traditional Chinese Landscape Practice inspired by looking through some work apparently created through the Song dynasty. To see these boldly coloured papers used for paintings was very inspirational and I thought I'd incorporate some of these elements into a construction of my own. The paper is very thin hand made paper from China and made life tricky for me. The ink sort of sat on the surface for a while then suddenly soaked into the fibres after a delay. To bypass this weirdness I dampened the paper first and allowed it to dry partially by 90% which, for some reason made the ink hit the fibres immediately.
Good fun and enjoyable to try.
