I love this clip! It's a perfect example of the kind of neat things that come up when you study with unscripted conversations. There is just no way to simulate the way people speak Chinese in these kind of real, personal conversations.

You'll meet Pei Pei (Yangyang's cousin) in Unit 39 of our Upper Intermediate Conversational Course -- but in this Mandarin Listening Challenge you get to hear her mom and dad's feelings about whether she dates a Chinese person or a 外国人 (wài guó rén) - a foreigner (specifically anyone not from China).
