Christie's Asia Week Results NYC, Chinese Art and Fine Japanese Art

Welcome.

March saw some very good auction results in both the Chinese art and Japanese Art categories, Japanese art was strong to extremely strong across the board.

Fine Chinese Shang bronzes from the Shapiro collection did very well with a top auction lot bringing $8.6 million dollars, fine Chinese furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasty continues gaining strength, with Ming and Qing monochromes doing very well also including Longquan celadons and Peachbloom examples.

Japanese art did fantastically well with Hokusai Great Wave realizing 1.6 million dollars, prints across the board did very well.

More from the Junkunc collection took off as it always does, some great early Jades from the Ming dynasty and much more.
