The "River South" is a literal translation of the name 江南, a place in China well known for its traditional structures and villages located on the Eastern coast of China. Many places around the region are arguably the best places to visit for a sight of China's traditional side as most of the physical aspects of her culture have been well preserved there. Some have called this town the "Venice of the Orient" as most of the old structures are built over large rivers and traveling around the town is usually by boat!
